  • You can connect your Google account to have access to remote configuration of parental controls via your phone or laptop.

    • You do this via logging-in through the email you have received from xxx@otherphone.co.uk

    • If you don’t have a google account, you can create a Google account here.

  • We also recommend setting up Google Family Link for the best and safest experience.

  • Note: Either you or your child will need a Google account to download apps (this applies to all Android phones).

    • Use the same account as your registered with on the email we have sent you

    • By default, content filters will be set to moderate (blocking nudity, obscene/graphic text).

  6. Set device lock

    • This is the lock of the phone itself.

    • Therefore, it will also be what your child will use to open the device.

    • You can choose the method of locking it, and will be able to change it later.

Why do you need to do this?

  • In order to download apps, eg Whatsapp, or mobile games, you need to have an account linked to the play store

  • If you use your own account, then if you allow any other google apps on the homescreen, these will be logged in to your google too.

  • A dummy account will work the same, which you can keep access to.

  • Note, if your child is over 13, they can opt out of Google Family Link by email. This is additional security which we recommend setting up separately.
