You can connect your Google account to have access to remote configuration of parental controls via your phone or laptop.
You do this via logging-in through the email you have received from xxx@otherphone.co.uk
If you don’t have a google account, you can create a Google account here.
We also recommend setting up Google Family Link for the best and safest experience.
Family Link gives you additional controls like screen time limits and app approvals.
Note: Either you or your child will need a Google account to download apps (this applies to all Android phones).
2
Setup SafetyMode

Switch on the phone and follow the welcome flow.
Connect to Wi-Fi when prompted.
Create your SafetyMode password.
This password locks parental settings so your child cannot change them.
Connect your Google account
This is so you can connect to the remote management system.
Use the same account as your registered with on the email we have sent you
Adjust the content filters
These scan the screen, to detect harmful content within any app.
By default, content filters will be set to moderate (blocking nudity, obscene/graphic text).
Set device lock
This is the lock of the phone itself.
Therefore, it will also be what your child will use to open the device.
You can choose the method of locking it, and will be able to change it later.
3
Set-up a Google account for your child

Why do you need to do this?
In order to download apps, eg Whatsapp, or mobile games, you need to have an account linked to the play store
If you use your own account, then if you allow any other google apps on the homescreen, these will be logged in to your google too.
A dummy account will work the same, which you can keep access to.
Note, if your child is over 13, they can opt out of Google Family Link by email. This is additional security which we recommend setting up separately.
Option 1 - on your computer
Follow the the instructions here
Option 2 - on the Other phone
Open "Apps" on the homescreen
Open "Google Play"
Create an account and follow the on screen instructions, using your childs DOB.
If they are under 13, you will be instructed to log-in with your account to give consent.
